A beautifully aromatic wine with a decidedly savage, animal quality. Scents of leather, dried herbs, black cherry, and oregano form the nose. The palate is middle-weighted and quite lifted, with chalky tannins and an intense, fully-flavored finish. Winemaker Peter Bell claims to look to Chinon as his inspiration.
