Since 1885, Kuroki Honten has devoted itself to the art of shochu-making. They take great pride in growing all the ingredients for their shochu themselves on their own organic farms. They use underground water sourced from the subterranean flow of Omaru River.

Nakanaka is the brand of barley shochu from the well respected Kuroki Honten distillery. It is distilled one time (honkaku) and then aged for a year in kame, traditional clay pots similar to amphorae. Full bodied, complex, and well balanced. Fresh and lightly sweet, it provides fruity, floral and vegetal notes.
